2008年季夏，一群好友萌生組團的念頭－This Emergency就這樣誕生了，他是We Came as Romans的前生，在底特津一帶作表演，隨著成員的交替，We Came as Romans這個名字就這樣產生了。
發行一張DEMO後，隨後發行了《Dream》這張EP，獲得各界好評：「簡短而甜美，但不朽又懷抱夢想」，在第一個禮拜，就交出超過50000份數位下載的漂亮成績，這也讓知名唱片公司Equal Vision看上他們，隔年秋天《To Plant a Seed》的發行又帶起另一個風潮。
在2010年，WCAR與許許多多的知名團體進行巡迴，這群年輕的樂手們，在這過程中磨練砥礪，學習精進，然而今年初吉他手Joshua Moore不幸罹患腦膜炎，一度昏迷不醒，取消了一些表演後，終於在三月為A Day to Remember的巡迴搶先發聲，宣布參加今年的Warped Tour，並醞釀出新專輯《Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be》，專輯中的第一首和最後一首Mis//Understanding提前釋出，也釋放出成長、正向積極的能量！
